Our country has never been more divided as we struggle to make sense of what is happening around us. Why is everything deteriorating? From our economy, to loss of jobs, to high crime rates, we see the many issues surrounding The United States. Too often major news outlets and the mainstream media are silent on these issues and the out of control crime rates within our minority communities. It is difficult to comprehend why anyone would ignore the real problems but focus on political agendas and false narratives that research proves wrong. This creates further division when we desperately need unity as Americans.

Amidst all the chaos and rioting, let’s talk about some of the real issues affecting the African American communities, a minority with among the highest crime rates. It is impossible to discuss real solutions if the problem is not brought up to the surface. African American crime and murder rates are the highest among any other minority and no, it is not police doing the killing it is other African Americans. This is the reality no matter how much Black Lives Matter would like to riot and convince the youth that they are being unfairly targeted by police. This has been proven with real research and data.

Being this negligent to the facts creates a mindset that one should be able to behave as they wish and hold any weapons in the presence of police without consequence. I urge everyone to obey police commands and never point an object, whether it be a gun or a pen to a police officer. Police are trained to follow protocols to stop the perpetrator when threatened as a means of survival. Not only is denying this reality a major indicator that it will continue, it’s also costing lives. Not just the lives of African Americans, but the lives of our police officers who sacrifice their safety every day for the safety of others. It’s time we stop demonizing the people who make it their job to protect our citizens. It’s time Black Lives Matter stops destroying cities and rioting after each police involved shooting and targeting white people with hate and violence.

Heavy – A man was attacked, beaten and dragged by a group of men in a parking garage during the Charlotte riots on September 21. Some people on Facebook, where the video was originally shared, said it was a racial attack, with the victim appearing to be white and the attackers African-American. They said the man was begging for mercy, but he can’t be heard on the video. It appears one of the attackers pulls the man’s pants off in the video.

Violence is not the way towards unity or any type of equality but the way towards hate and division. Equality is not wanting one particular race to be superior to others. What has happened to us America?

If I were to ask which city in The United States has the highest crime rates, I guarantee Chicago would be in your top 5. We have been hearing about the continuous deteriorating conditions of the inner cities for years and since Barrack Obama became President promising change and hope. Obama has offered neither, it is under his leadership that racial division and tensions are at an all-time high. Now, we can only hope that the negligence of this administration will not have permanent negative effects. We must work towards real solutions to help these affected communities with such high crime rates. In fact, according to the Chicago Tribune, August has been the most violent month in nearly 20 years.

Chicago Tribune – In the weeks since he was shot in the back, 10-year-old Tavon Tanner has undergone several operations to repair the damage from the bullet that tore through his small body and remains lodged between his shoulder and his chest. Tavon was among more than 400 people shot in Chicago this month. There have been at least 78 homicides, marking August as the most violent month in the city in almost 20 years, according to data provided by the Chicago Police Department. The city hasn’t seen a deadlier month since October of 1997, when there were 79 homicides. For the whole year, the count was 761, according to department numbers. Chicago has recorded 487 homicides and more than 2,800 people shot so far this year, compared to 491 homicides and 2,988 people shot all of last year.”

Perhaps the most disturbing question is why has Black Lives Matter been focusing on police that shoot criminals like Keith Lamont Scott but not African American gang members that shoot innocent children in drive-by shootings like Tavon? I can understand the frustrating and confusion with so many African Americans who don’t feel safe. We need law and order in this country once again, we need unity and we need Trump. He has been talking about the help that our inner cities desperately need for decades. Imagine if politicians would have listened years ago instead of essentially abandoning the inner cities.

Homicide Watch Chicago Oct 1, 2016 – A man killed in a drive-by shooting near his home in the Englewood neighborhood Thursday afternoon has been identified as Byron C. Walker. At 2:36 p.m., the 28-year-old Walker was walking outside in the 1100 block of West 57th Street when a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police. Walker, who lived around the corner in the 5700 block of South Aberdeen, was shot in the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.”

There are far too many examples of African Americans who are being killed everyday because of gang related violence or drive-by shootings.

Another question that repeatedly comes to mind is why the media remains silent and why do they continue to push narratives demonizing police? Each month we have innocent African Americans as well as criminal gang members lives lost or severely injured due to the increasing crime rates and gang related shootings. According to FBI Homicide Data, out of a total of 2664 murders 2380 were committed by other African American men. Between 2014 and 2015 black-on-black killings increased by 7.9 percent. Why isn’t Black Lives Matter protesting against these lives? Is it only people who have been shot by police that matter even if they have a weapon and a criminal past? Furthermore, why is this type of violence being ignored?

In August, in one day, 12 people were shot in Chicago with one fatality. Again, this happened in one day. Why isn’t Black Lives Matter or the media advocating for education, parenting counseling, after school programs for our youth to stay out of gang related activity? The purpose we have police is to keep our communities safe from criminals. There should be no groups promoting any single one race, this only intensifies and glorifies race as if one race is superior to the other. We can’t fall into this trap, we are all Americans and we are brothers and sisters who belong to one Nation under one flag. All lives matter, we must join hands as Americans and seek improvement, seek safety, seek unity.
